Bungungu airstrip is a domestic airstrip located in Murchison falls national park in the northwestern part of Uganda, the park boasts with 76 mammal species and over 450 bird species. Murchison falls is also Uganda’s largest national park covering an area of about 4000 square kilometers it’s also the country’s oldest national park. Bungungu airstrip is just 26 kilometers from Masindi town. There are several domestic airlines that operate flights from Entebbe or kajjansi airfield to Murchison falls national park, tourists can book with a tour company or direct with the airlines.
Apart from reaching Murchison falls national park by air, Murchison falls can be accessed by road and takes about five to six hours drive from Kampala. Tourists can use their own private vehicles, hire a car or use a tour company.
