Ziwa rhino camp is a rhino sanctuary located in Nakasongola district in Uganda just few kilometers from Kampala the capital city of the country. The rhino camp is the best stop over destination when visiting Murchison falls national park, Ziwa rhino camp is the only place to see rhinos from in Uganda, the black and white rhinoceros were extinct in the country by 1982.
The Uganda wildlife authority together with rhino fund Uganda have worked hand in hand to ensure the reintroduction of rhinos back to the Uganda national parks, the rhinos at Ziwa were donated from Solio Orlando and some brought from Kenya.
Today the number of rhinos at the sanctuary is about twenty and apart from trekking the rhinos tourists can engage in other activities as a bonus like watching wildlife such as zebras, bird watching among the rest.
Tourists can either move in their vehicles around the sanctuary or hire from rhino fund Uganda within a very knowledgeable and experienced tour guide to tell you all you need to know about the Ziwa rhino camp.
