BAR LYEC SAFARI LODGE – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Bar lyec safari lodge is referred to as a budget accommodation (2-star) found in  Nwoya Northern Uganda , Pakwach District outside the famous Murchison falls national park . The lodge is located close to Tangi gate in about 15 miles.  The lodge is situated in a Perfect place for budget travellers, tourists or holiday makers who want to explore the park with breathtaking views of River Nile , view of animals visiting the lodge especially Elephants and surrounding areas.  It takes about 5-6 hours’ drive from Kampala city Centre to the lodge/ park and 30 minutes flight from Entebbe International airport to the close Pakuba airstrip then few minutes to the lodge.

Bar Lyec safari lodge consists of 17 comfortable and spacious rooms of which 10 are cottages and 7 tents with the view of the River Nile and wilderness reflecting African traditional building style with grass thatched roofs, local woods and comfort proximity. Both Tents and cottages are well decorated, elevated off the ground  and furnished with   private en suite facilities of clean  Flushing toilets , hot and cold showers,  solar energy available,  wooden chairs and tables , mosquito nets , complementary bottled water ,  free toiletries , slippers , fan in in all rooms to mention but few . Both Cottages and tents have sitting areas, terraces and wooden balconies overlooking the breathtaking views of the River, wilderness, and wildlife roaming around the lodge and surrounding area.  There are two fireplace at the lodge where fire glows with comfortable wooden chairs guests relax in the evenings as they enjoy the sunset and share experiences about the safaris/trip not only that it provides warmth during cold evenings. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable clean and washed beddings with queen sized bed.   The lodge offers  single beds for individuals ,double/ twin  for 2 people , triple room for 3 people or a family group with different  cost ranging from 100$ per night and above depending on seasons in High season the rate goes slightly high than in Low season.

Bar Lyec safari lodge offers more services and facilities which include;

 A restaurant in the main building that serves meals both continental and African- inspired meals that meet guests’ appetite. They offer Buffet breakfast facing the Park, picnic lunch and dinner served by well trained, friendly and organized staff. You can have meals in the place of your choice either in the dining area, verandas (bush breakfast and diners) while enjoying the stars in the sky in the night.

A well -stocked bar with  variety of drinks , local  , wines, spirits and international beers,  you relax either in the garden and sip the drink of your choice while overlooking  the stunning view over The Nile, wildlife roaming around the lodge especially elephants buffaloes etc.

A swimming pool that cools off the hot afternoon after safari, you relax on poolside chairs as you enjoy the breezes around the lodge

Murchison falls national park is the famous largest, oldest most visited park situated in the north eastern parts of Uganda in Amuru  It was formally called Kabalega national park.  The park stands on the shores of lake Albert  home of scarce shoebills stork  occupying  the total area of 3,840Km squared .The park contains over 78 species of mammals including the Big five animals like; Rhinos, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes, Impalas, zebras and over 450  bird species like ; water birds, savannah birds, Albertline endemic birds etc.  The park has different accommodations like;  Budget , mid range and luxury accommodation that are convenient and friendly to guests visiting the park.
