Best places to see lions in Uganda; Lions also known as the king of the jungle are the largest carnivores and one of the big five mammals in Uganda. lions live in prides of 2 to 40 lions and in the wild they can live for up to 14 years while in the zoo for about 20 years. a full grown male lion can weigh between 150 to 250 Kilograms while a full grown female lion can weigh between 120 to 182 Kilograms. The gestation period of lions is 110 days and females produce at the age of 4 years for 1 to 4 cubs which can weigh about 1.2 to 2.1 Kilograms. Male lions are usually thrown out of the group by the dominant males at the age of 3 to 4 years and they try to take over a pride when they are about 7 to 10 years old. Females lions are responsible for hunting and also raising their cub.
