Mgahinga gorilla national park is located in southwestern Uganda in Kisoro district bordering Volcanoes national park in Rwanda and Virunga national park in Democratic Republic of Congo. Uganda however increased the price of a gorilla trekking permit by $100 effective 1st July 2020 therefore the foreign non-residents will be paying $700 and $600 for foreign residents. The gorilla trekking permit is valid for one day and allows you to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat though trekking itself takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
