Chobe Safari Lodge can be accessed by all visitors traveling to Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge can be accessed by air or road. The lodge is located about 272 km from Kampala City, and approximately 311kms from Entebbe International Airport.

Traveling by Air to Chobe Safari Lodge.

Chobe Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls National Park can be accessed by visitors traveling by air. Flying to Chobe presents a much faster and convenient way of travel for visitors who want to avoid the long road trip, and also those on a tight schedule. Visitors who chose to travel to the lodge by air can hire a chartered flight from Entebbe International Airport. Flying from Entebbe to Chobe takes about an hour, with flights landing at Chobe airstrip near the lodge.

Traveling by Road to Chobe Safari Lodge.

From Entebbe.

Visitors travelling from Entebbe International Airport will have to embark on a 4½ hour drive, which is about 311kms from Chobe Safari Lodge via Kampala- Gulu Highway. The biggest part of this journey is on a well tarmacked road. The road heads southeast from Entebbe towards Gowers Road, and leads one onto the Kampala-Entebbe Express way connecting to the Northern Bypass Highway. Travelers can then take the ramp to Bombo Road using the Kampala-Gulu Highway and finally connects visitors to Masindi.

From Masindi, travelers can have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Sanctuary. The Rhino sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where visitors have the chance to see rhinoceros in the wild. The sanctuary also offers visitors other activities such as bird watching, game drives and guided nature walks. The rhino sanctuary is located just 113kms from Chobe lodge in Murchison Falls National Park, which is about 1-2 hours’ drive.

From Kampala.

Alternatively, visitors can access the Lodge by road from Kampala City. The lodge is situated 272km from the Marasa Central Reservations Office on Fifth Street, Kampala Industrial Area. Traveling from Kampala using the Northern Bypass, presents a much easier mode of travel to the lodge.

Travelers should head north from the roundabout at Kawempe, on the northern bypass. This route takes travelers 248km along the tarmacked Gulu road and across the Nile at Karuma Falls. Once you get 3kms beyond the bridge at Karuma, there is a marram road on your left with a signpost showing “Chobe Safari Lodge” 14km ahead. The journey from Kawempe to Chobe Safari Lodge takes about 3½ hours.

There is an alternative route that takes travelers to the Lodge via Homia town. However, this is a much longer route which takes about 6½ hours covering a distance of 361 kilometers.
