Murchison falls national park is also commonly referred to as kabalega falls and it is located in Masindi district in the Northern region of Uganda.  This national park shares its boundaries with other districts like; Kiryandongo, Nwoya and Buliisa. Murchison falls national park is famously known and highly considered the largest national park compared to all other national parks in Uganda and it covers a total surface area of about 3900 square kilometers. More so this national park was first gazette as a game reserve in 1926 and later in 1952, it was established as a national park hence raking it to be among the oldest national parks in the country and it is under the management of a government agency program which is known as the Uganda Wildlife Authority whose major role is to protect and conserve all the national parks in the country.
