Ziwa rhino and wildlife ranch also known as Ziwa rhino sanctuary is one of the best stop overs while on a tour to Murchison falls national park, it’s located in Nakasongolaalong Kampala-Gulu highway dominated by white rhinos and the main tourist’s activity here is viewing rhinos. The ranch covers an area of 70 kilometers squared borderedby an electric fence. The ranch was established in the year 2005.

Ziwa rhino sanctuary is managed by a private company called rhinofund Uganda and Uganda wildlife authority, the aim of the rhino reintroduction project is to re introduce rhinos in Uganda national parks. The rhino population can be expanded by breeding.

The sanctuary is home to many bird species and other reptiles inclusive. The game ranger tour guides are very friendly and will give you information you will need to know about rhinos and how they were brought to the sanctuary.

The accommodation units offer fine foods ranging from local and international cusuine with variety of drinks availed, the staffs are also very friendly and warm welcoming making you feel at home away from home. The accommodation units are very simple and comfortable with both private and shared bathroom facilities.
