Murchison falls national park is known for harboring a wide range of wildlife species including animals like elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, lions, leopards, bushbucks, hyenas, giraffes, Jacksons hartebeest, primates like monkeys, baboons, and different bird species.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park, depending on your location on the first day of the 3 days Karuma and Murchison falls tour you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park. On the way you will have en-route lunch and a stopover at Karuma falls which are located on Victoria Nile within the eastern part of Murchison falls national park. While at Karuma falls you will go for a tour around the falls where you will be able to enjoy scenic views of the beautiful rocks, wildlife species including animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, primates like monkeys, baboons and different bird species. After the Karuma falls tour you will proceed to Murchison falls national park, check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Karuma and Murchison falls tour your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in the park. During the game drive you will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunrise, view animals like buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, Jacksons hartebeest, lions, leopards, hyenas, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

Afternoon game drive, after lunch you will go for an interesting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. During the boat ride which takes about 2 hours you will be able to view large herds of hippos in water, crocodiles basking on the banks, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the shores and water birds like cormorants, bee-eaters, kingfishers, fish eagles, hornbills and many others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will opt for a top of the falls hike or cruise back to the starting point. Hiking to the top of the falls is an adventurous activity that takes about 45 minutes depending on your level of fitness, you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the waterfall, listen to water roars and when you reach on top you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala

Morning game drive, after breakfast on the last day of the 3 days Karuma and Murchison falls tour you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short game drive in the park where you will look out for animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive. After the game ride you will check out of the lodge and start the journey to Kampala with en-route lunch. You will arrive in Kampala early evening and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
