Day 1 of the 4 days fly in safari to Murchison falls national park

Fly to Murchison falls national park, on the first day of your 4 days fly in safari to Murchison falls national park you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about your safari as you prepare for your domestic flight to Pakuba/Bugungu airstrips. The scheduled aircraft to Murchison falls national park departs at 12:00pm and arrives in Pakuba or Bugungu airstrip at 13:00pm. During the flight you will have aerial views of the vegetation, beautiful landscape, homesteads, terraced farmlands among others. After landing at Pakuba/Bugungu airstrip you will be picked up by another driver guide to transfer to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will relax as you prepare yourself for an evening game drive in the savannah plains where you will be able to view various animals like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise

Game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days fly in safari to Murchison falls national park you will meet up your driver guide and go for a game drive which starts as early as 6: 30 or7:00am so as to catch up with the predators which will be going back to their hiding places. During the game drive you will follow different tracks in the park such as Buligi game track, Victoria game track, Albert game track among others which harbor different wildlife species such as the bushbucks, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, waterbucks, Jacksons hartebeests, oribi, warthogs, bird species like marabou stork, black bellied bustard, open billed stork, black headed lapwing, Abyssinian ground hornbill, grey crowned crane, yellow billed stork, secretary bird, osprey among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to Paraa landing site for an amazing boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The boat ride is done in schedules and the afternoon schedule starts at around 2:00pm and takes about 2 to 3 hours. during the boat cruise you will have great views the waterfall, take beautiful photos, view aquatic animals like hippos and Nile crocodiles, other animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes among others drinking water along the shores, aquatic birds such as the grey headed King fisher, Bee-eaters, Herons, cormorants, long toed plover, African darter, veracious dove among others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will either opt for an adventurous hike to the top of the falls or cruise back to the starting point. Hiking to the top of the falls is strenuous and takes about 45 minutes therefore it requires you to be physically fit. During hiking you will enjoy water splashes, view beautiful scenery, listen to roars of the water among others and when you reach on top you will find your driver guide waiting for you and then drive to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Nile delta boat cruise and community tour

Nile delta boat cruise, on the third day of the 4 days fly in safari to Murchison falls national park you will have breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up to transfer to the Paraa jetty for a Nile delta boat cruise. The scheduled Nile delta boat cruise starts from Parra jetty, stretches to the shores of lake Albert and takes about 4 to 5 hours ride. During the boat cruise you will have spectacular views of Murchison falls, large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in water, other animals like Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks among others along the shores, bird species like the elusive shoebill stork, goliath heron, African jacana, pied and malachite kingfisher, African skimmer, papyrus gonolek, African fish eagle, saddle billed stork among others. You will also be able to view fishermen who will be catching fish on Lake Albert in dugout canoes. After the Nile delta boat cruise you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch.

Community walk, after lunch you will go for a community tour around the park where you will visit different communities that surround Murchison falls national park like Mubako community and BOOMU women’s group. During the community tour you will explore the heritage of Bunyoro culture. Interact with the local people to learn about their way of living, enjoy cultural dances from Mubako dancers, visit the craft shop where they sell handmade crafts, wood sculptures among others. After the community tour you will meet up with your guide to drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive and departure

After breakfast on the last day of the 4 days fly in safari to Murchison falls national park, you will go for another morning game drive which gives you an opportunity to view different wildlife species which you might have missed during the previous game drive. After the game drive you will drive out of the park to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will check out of the lodge, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Pakuba/ Bugungu airstrip for your domestic flight to Entebbe international airport which departs at 13:15pm and arrives at Entebbe airport at 16:15pm.
