Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth park safari

Transfer to Murchison falls national park, depending on the arrival time on the first day of your 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about your safari and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park which is located in northwestern Uganda. On your way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will engage in rhino tracking an activity that takes about an hour. After rhino tracking you will proceed with the journey and have another stopover in Masindi town for lunch. After lunch you will continue to Murchison fall national park and upon arrival check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and Boat cruise

Game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of your 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park you will meet up with your guide and go for a morning game drive which starts at around 6:30 or 7:00am. During the game drive you will follow different tracks such as Buligi, Victoria, Albert among others which offer spectacular views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, leopards, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest among others. After the game drive which will end at around you will drive back to the lodge and have lunch.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will go for an amazing boat cruise activity which starts at 2:00pm at Parra jetty landing site and takes about 2 to3 hours. The boat cruise in Murchison falls national park in carried out on River Nile and during the activity you will be able to view elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes among others along the water banks, Nile crocodiles and hippos in water and water birds like the cormorants, fish eagle among others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will have beautiful views of the waterfall. While at the bottom of the falls, you can opt for a hike to the top of the falls which takes about 45 minutes. Hiking to the top of the falls however needs someone to be physically fit because it’s strenuous. During hiking you will have great experiences as you enjoy to water splashes and listen to the crashing of the water. When you reach on top you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After an early breakfast on the third day of your 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park you will check out of the lodge, meet up with your driver guide and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park in southern Uganda. It’s a whole day journey with en-route lunch on the way, stopovers to take photos, stretch your legs and spectacular views of the tea plantations, beautiful scenery, landscapes, Rwenzori mountains, homesteads, lake George, wild animals like elephants, antelopes among others as you drive through the park to the lodge. Upon arrival you will check in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive/ lion tracking and boat cruise

Game drive, on the fourth day of your 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari you will have an breakfast and meet up with your driver guide for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will also be able to see various animal species like the leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, lions, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, bush pigs, and bird species like papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the boat cruise at Kazinga channel a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. the boat cruise starts at around 2:00pm, takes about 2 hours and while cruising you will have clear views of animals like hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks along the water banks drinking water, various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others.

After the boat cruise you will drive to Lake Katwe the salt lake where you will see local people extracting rock salt from the main lake to the landing area for sell. Lake Katwe was formed through volcanic eruption and has helped many people to earn a living through salt extraction.  You will also visit Lake Munyanyange which is 2kms away from Lake Katwe where you will see different bird species such as the flamingos, pied avocet, black winged stilt, black terns, sea gulls among others. After the crater lakes tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Game drive and Departure to Kampala

Game drive, on the last day of your 5 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide for another game drive in the park. During the game drive you will have an opportunity of viewing animals which you might have missed the previous day and after the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch on the way and continue the journey via Mbarara, with a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take some photos and also buy some souvenirs, craft items, art pieces among others. From the Equator you will continue the journey to Kampala where your driver guide will drop you off at the airport or at any place of convenience.
