This 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari will take you to Murchison falls national park which is the largest national park located in north western Uganda. While in the park you will engage in a game drive and boat cruise where you will be able to view abundant wildlife species like giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, water animals like hippos, crocodiles, bird species among others. You will also visit Jinja where you will participate in an adventurous white water rafting which is carried out on Itanda falls.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 of the 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting

Transfer to Murchison falls national park, depending on the time of arrival on the first day of your 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours drive with en-route lunch and upon arrival you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will have views of the waterfall and some wild animals. From the top of the falls you will drive to the lodge, check in have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

Game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari, you will meet up with your driver guide for the morning game drive which starts at around 7:00am. During the game drive you will follow different game tracks such as Buligi, Victoria among others which harbor various animals in the park including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge to have lunch and re-freshen up.

Boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to Paraa landing site for an amazing boat cruise adventure to the bottom of the falls on River Nile. The boat ride starts at around 2:00pm and takes about 2 hours, during this incredible activity you will be able to view various animals like the elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes among others on the water shores, hippos and crocodiles in water, water birds like bee-eaters, kingfishers, cormorants, papyrus gonolek among others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will opt for an adventurous hike to the top of the falls. Hiking to the top of the falls is strenuous hence needs you to be physically fit and takes about 45 minutes to reach on top where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala

On the third day of your 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. On your way you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will participate in rhino tracking. The activity takes about 2 hours and after you will proceed with the journey with en-route lunch. You will arrive early in the evening and your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Jinja for white water rafting

After an early breakfast on the fourth day of your 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari, your driver guide will pick you up to start the journey to Jinja which is located in south eastern part of Uganda. You will have a stopover at Mabira forest where you will engage in an adventurous zip lining or guided forest walk in the forest which offers you spectacular views of the plant, tree species, birds, primates among others. After the amazing experience you will proceed to Jinja town for lunch.

White water rafting, after lunch you will go for white water rafting experience which will be done at Itanda falls along the River Nile. White water rafting is an amazing and exciting activity that is done by use of a small paddle raft filled with air and with the help of a trained guide. White water rafting takes about 1 to 3 hours and you will make a choice of the grades which range from grade 1 to grade 5. After the unforgettable white water rafting experience you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer back to Kampala. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure to Entebbe

On the last day of your 5 days Murchison falls and white water rafting safari you will have a relaxed breakfast at the lodge and if you have an evening flight you will go for an optional city tour in Kampala where you will be able to visit various attractions like the Uganda Museum, Uganda Martyr’s Shrine, Kabaka’s Palace, Owino market among others. During the city tour you will have lunch in one of the hotels in Kampala where you will taste different dishes prepared in Uganda. After Kampala city tour your driver guide will transfer you to Entebbe international airport for your next flight.
