6 Days Chimpanzee and Gorilla habituation tour
The 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour is an interesting tour that will take you to two primate national parks in Uganda including Kibale forest national park also known as the primate capital and Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be able to spend time with the chimpanzees and endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat during chimpanzee and gorilla habituation experience. You will also be able to engage in a guided nature walk where you will get up-close and personal with different wildlife species and also engage in Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa people who live in the neighboring communities.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale forest national park. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and enjoy great views of the tea plantations, Rwenzori peaks, crater lakes among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation experience

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee habituation briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and a park guide who is conversant with trekking trails. Chimpanzee habituation experience starts very early in the morning and takes a whole day. During chimpanzee habituation experience, you will be able to see other primates, view some bird species, plants species among others. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be able to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn and monitor their behaviors, habits, watch them feed, play, fight, hunt, mate, rest, take photos and record videos. After the encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the third day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and then proceed to the park arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla habituation experience
On the fourth day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will have an early breakfast, carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to go for gorilla habituation briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing, you will be allocated an experienced park guide and start trekking in the jungle which takes a whole day. Once the gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend four hours with them in their habitat where you will be able to learn and monitor their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, engage in the naming process, take photos and record videos. After the encounter with the gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla habituation experience and later drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Guided nature walk and Batwa cultural tour
After an early breakfast on the fifth day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to go for a guided nature walk in the park where you will get up-close and personal with different wildlife species, enjoy views of the waterfall, listen to sweet sounds of bird species among others. After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa people, learn about their culture, tradition, way of living, enjoy their traditional performance among others. After the cultural tour, you will return back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure to Kampala/ Entebbe
On the last day of the 6 days chimpanzee and gorilla habituation tour, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will have en-route lunch and then proceed to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport or drop off at any place of advise.
