Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari
On the first day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide you will pick you up depending on your location, give you a short briefing about your 6 days gorillas and Murchison falls safari and then start your journey to Murchison falls national park. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive and on your way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is the only destination in Uganda harboring the endangered rhinos. After rhino tracking which you will continue the journey to Masindi town where you will have en-route lunch. After lunch you will continue the journey to the park check in at the lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise
On the second day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari, you will wake up have an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up and transfer for the morning game drive which will start at 7:00am. Murchison falls national park is blessed with variety of vegetation types, bird species and animal species therefore during the game drive you will get an opportunity to view most of the animals such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, warthogs, antelopes among others. After the game drive which will end at around12pm, you will drive back to the lodge to have lunch and re-freshen up.
After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise which takes about 2 hours on River Nile where you will view various animals such as the elephants, buffaloes, antelopes on the shores of the water, hippos and crocodiles in water and some water birds. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will have beautiful views of the waterfall and while at the bottom of the falls, you can opt for hiking on top of the falls where you will meet your driver guide on top after hiking. Hiking on top of the falls is an interesting and adventurous activity that takes about 45 minutes but needs someone to be physically fit. After meeting up with your guide you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge used the previous day.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will have breakfast at the lodge on the third day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national park is a magnificent destination that harbors various wildlife species. You will have great scenic views on the way to the park and where you feel like you want to take pictures, you are free to stop the driver. You will have en-route lunch on the way as you continue the journey to the park where you will arrive at the lodge in the evening, check in, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game drive (lion tracking) and afternoon Boat cruise
On the fourth day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari, you will wake up have and early breakfast and then meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive or lion tracking experience. The lion tracking experience is an activity where track lions with radio collars. The activity therefore gives you an opportunity to view the king of the jungle at a close range while monitoring the behaviors, habits among others.
After the lion tracking experience, you will drive around the park viewing animal species such as the leopards, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pigs, and various bird species such as the papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler among others. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park is done on Kazinga channel, a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. The boat cruise starts at 2:00pm at the landing site near the luxury lodge Mweya safari lodge and takes about 2 hours. Boat cruise is an exciting and adventurous activity on Kazinga channel where you will be able to ride close to the animals such as elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks which will be along the water banks, hippos and Nile crocodiles in waters and various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others. After your boat cruise trip you will drive back to your lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking
You will wake up early and have breakfast on the fifth day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari, meet up with your driver guide and then transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Kyambura Gorge is also known as the valley of apes and it’s located in north eastern part of Queen Elizabeth national park which takes about 30kilometres to reach there. On arrival in Kyambura Gorge you will have a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking and then start trekking with a guide.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge takes about 2 to 3 hours or even longer depending on the location of the chimpanzee families and once they are found, you will spend one hour in their presence learning about their lifestyles, behaviors, habits, recording videos and taking pictures with a flash less camera. After chimpanzee trekking you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch and refreshment.
After lunch you will transfer to Lake Katwe the salt lake which was formed through volcanic eruption. During the Lake Katwe tour, you will be able to see the local people extracting rock salt from the main lake to the landing area for sell. If there is still time you will also visit Lake Munyanyange which is 2kms away from Lake Katwe and you will see different bird species such as the flamingos, pied avocet, black winged stilt, black terns, sea gulls among others. After visiting the crater lakes, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the previous lodge.
Day 6: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park, you will wake up have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and then meet up with your driver guide for another morning game drive in the park. This morning drive will give you an opportunity to view some of the animals that you missed the previous day. The game drive will take about 3 hour and then drive out of the park and start your journey to Kampala. On your way you will pass via the tea plantations with a stopover for lunch in Fort Portal.
After lunch you will continue the journey via Mbarara, equator where you will take some photos, view craft shops among others and continue the journey where you will reach in Kampala early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe airport in case you have a flight to catch or at any place of convenience.
