Detailed itinerary
Day 1 of the 6 days murchison falls, kibale and queen elizabeth park safari
Transfer to Murchison falls national park, depending on the arrival time on the first day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about your safari and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park which is located in northwestern Uganda. On your way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will engage in rhino tracking an activity that takes about an hour. After rhino tracking you will proceed with the journey and have another stopover in Masindi town for lunch. After lunch you will continue to Murchison fall national park and upon arrival check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Boat cruise
Game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park you will meet up with your guide and go for a morning game drive which starts at around 6:30 or 7:00am. During the game drive you will follow different tracks such as Buligi, Victoria, Albert among others which offer spectacular views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, waterbucks, leopards, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest among others. After the game drive which will end at around you will drive back to the lodge and have lunch.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will go for an amazing boat cruise activity which starts at 2:00pm at Parra jetty landing site and takes about 2 to3 hours. The boat cruise in Murchison falls national park in carried out on River Nile and during the activity you will be able to view elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes among others along the water banks, Nile crocodiles and hippos in water and water birds like the cormorants, fish eagle among others. The boat will continue to the bottom of the falls where you will have beautiful views of the waterfall. While at the bottom of the falls, you can opt for a hike to the top of the falls which takes about 45 minutes. Hiking to the top of the falls however needs someone to be physically fit because it’s strenuous. When you reach on top you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
You will wake up and have breakfast on the third day of your 6 days murchison falls, kibale and queen elizabeth park safari, meet up with your driver guide and then start the journey to Kibale national park which is situated in southwestern Uganda. Kibale national park harbors about 13 primates including the chimpanzees, baboons, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys hence also known as the primate capital. due to the fact that it harbors the highest number of chimpanzees. It’s a whole day journey to the park and offers spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake Albert, Lake Edward and Lake George, rift valley, tea plantations among others. Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park
Chimpanzee trekking, on the fourth day of your 6 days murchison falls, kibale and queen elizabeth park safari you will have an early breakfast, meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 6 people, allocated a chimpanzee group to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with the routes and trails in the forest. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park starts at around 8:00am and takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees and once they are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat learning more about their life style, behaviors, watching them feed, playing up in the trees as you record videos and take plenty of pictures with a flash less camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to Kanyachu Visitors Centre meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Nature walk, after lunch you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi community wetland where you will have spectacular views of different bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, primates like the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys, red tailed monkey, plant species, butterflies and also have and interaction with the local people. After the nature walk you will meet up with your driver guide and head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After an early breakfast on the fifth day of your 6 days murchison falls, kibale and queen elizabeth park safariyou will check out of the lodge, meet up with your driver guide and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest national park situated in southwestern Uganda harboring abundant wildlife species such as the big four mammals and other animals like hippos, waterbucks, Uganda kobs among others. The journey takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive to reach the park and upon arrival you will drive through the park with views of the animals as you head to the lodge where you will check in and have lunch.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer for the boat cruise at Kazinga channel a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. the boat cruise starts at around 2:00pm, takes about 2 hours and while cruising you will have clear views of animals like hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks along the water banks drinking water, various water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others.
After the boat cruise you will drive to Lake Katwe the salt lake where you will see local people extracting rock salt from the main lake to the landing area for sell. Lake Katwe was formed through volcanic eruption and has helped many people to earn a living through salt extraction. You will also visit Lake Munyanyange which is 2kms away from Lake Katwe where you will see different bird species such as the flamingos, pied avocet, black winged stilt, black terns, sea gulls among others. After the crater lakes tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Game drive/ lion tracking and departure
Game drive, on the last day of your 6 days Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national park safari you will have an breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will also be able to see various animal species like the leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, lions, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, bush pigs, and bird species like papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler among others.
Departure to Kampala, after the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch on the way and continue the journey via Mbarara, with a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take some photos and also buy some souvenirs, craft items, art pieces among others. From the Equator you will continue the journey to Kampala where your driver guide will drop you off at the airport or at any place of convenience.
