Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Pick up from your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe airport and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes about 5 hours with lunch en-route in Masindi town. You will enter the park through Kachumbanyobo gate and visit the top of the falls. Transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Fort Murchison Lodge or Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 2: Game Drive and Launch Cruise
Wake up to an early morning breakfast and depart the lodge to embark on a game drive during which you will encounter a number of animals including the big five. Have lunch and in the afternoon, embark on a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls. The cruise will enrich you with sights of different birds, giant crocodiles, as well as more animals that come to drink here. You can do a hike to the top of the falls and meet your guide there and transfer back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Murchison Falls to Kidepo Valley National Park
Breakfast will be served early and embark on your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. This is a long drive with eye-catching sites along the way including the Mantattas (small grass thatched houses) and the scenic views of the hills which separate the lands of Acholi and Karamoja.
You will also cross some seasonal rivers and arrive Kidepo Valley National Park well in time for late Lunch and an evening game drive in the Narus valley. Dinner and overnight at stay at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp. Other options include Apoka lodge for luxury and UWA Bandas for budget.
Day 4: Game drive in the Narus Valley
Wake up to an energizing breakfast amid tranquil nature and head out for a game drive in the Narus valley. The Valley is renowned for mammals such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, zebras and birds. The valley is home to the only permanent source of water – the Narus River and thus a convergence place for a lot of game.
Narus valley is known to posses the largest buffalo herds than anywhere else in the entire world. There are also high chances of spotting big cats on a hunt and on a lucky day; you may spot the rare cheetahs too which are endemic to Kidepo in the whole of Uganda. Head back to the lodge for lunch and embark on an evening game drive in the Narus valley again. Dinner and overnight at the lodge as above.
Day 5: Game drive in Narus and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley
Enjoy breakfast and visit the Narus valley for another game drive. The park has great observation points with binoculars and you will be happy to use them and you can never have enough of a game drive in this park! Return to the lodge for lunch and unwind a bit before embarking on a drive to Kidepo valley close to south Sudan boarder to visit the hot springs and you can encounter Ostriches within the region although their numbers are highly threatened by poaching by south Sudanese. Dinner and overnight at the lodge as above.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala
Have early morning breakfast and depart Kidepo ready for a full day drive back to Kampala. You will have stopovers to stretch and have lunch en-route. Arrive Kampala in the evening and transfer to your place of abode in Kampala or Entebbe airport for your onward flight. Proceed to Entebbe airport for your onward flight.
