7 Days Best of Uganda Safari
Day 1: Arrival & transfer to Murchison falls national park.
Upon your arrival, our company representative together with the driver / guide will welcome you and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park which is Uganda’s largest park. The park is a habitat for animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffe sand a variety of antelopes. En route, you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking which lasts 2 to 3 hours and proceed for lunch in Masindi town. Proceed and enter the park to find your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 2: Morning Game drive, bottom of the falls cruise and Hiking.
After an early breakfast, you will go for a game drive on the Northern Bank of River Nile. The activity takes about 3 to 5 hours and Wildlife in the Park includes elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, Oribis and waterbucks. After the drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon; go for a boat cruise on the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants, bee-eater and the rare shoebill stork. Connect from the bottom of the falls and hike up through Bakers trial as you view the magnificent Murchison falls at different points where water thunders through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 meters Gorge. Later meet your driver at the top of the falls and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wake up early, have breakfast then meet your guide/driver. Then embark on all day hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. The park is located in western Uganda in the districts of Kasese with en route lunch. Arrive in the park late evening. Proceed to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and Overnight stay at Park View Safari Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and boat safari
After having breakfast in the bush early morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth national park with your tracking gears. During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them gives a life time memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours.
After tracking, connect back to the lodge and refresh then connect for an afternoon boat cruise along the kazinga channel. Queen Elizabeth national park has the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. So during the boat cruise, you will be able to witness that. Other water animals like the crocodiles will be seen. Wildlife like the cape buffaloes, African elephants, giraffes will also be seen at the lake shores. Different bird species will also be spotted if you are a bird lover. Return to lodge as above
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi forest
Very early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park (4-5 hours drive) through Ishasha sector. Spend some time spotting the tree climbing lions and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest with lunch en-route and arriving Bwindi late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany Springs Lodge
Day 6: Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the UWA officials, set off for the gorilla tracking. This is a once life time experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about1 hour.
The activity can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas. This is an awesome and exciting moment. En-route, there are other types of the primates such as the monkeys, birds and more. After the trek, you will receive your Gorilla trekking certificate and meet up with your driver / guide and return to the lodge where you will spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at Mahogany springs Lodge as above.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala (9 hours)
Breakfast will be served early and embark on your journey back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara town or Masaka. You will also make a stopover at Equator at Kayabwe for water experiments and photographs, Royal drum Village at Mpambire for souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala, refresh and later transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of the safari
