Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport—through Entebbe Areas
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet our safari driver guide to transfer you to your booked hotel in Entebbe. Early arrivals can be introduced to birding around Entebbe birding sites, probably at the Botanical Gardens or at Mabamba swamps for rare shoebill storks and kingfisher species.
During your birding at Botanical Gardens, expect to have great birding views of the Pink-backed Pelican, Great Blue Turaco, African Grey Parrot, Black and white casqued Hornbill, Egyptian Goose and numerous weavers like the Orange Weaver, Weyne’s weaver and sunbirds, Purple-banded, and Scarlet-chested. Other species include the African fish eagle, Hadada Ibis, Grey Heron, Pied Kingfisher and various cuckoos. Dinner and overnight stay at Best Western Resort Hotel Entebbe/Protea Marriot Hotel

Day 2: Birding to Murchison Falls National Park
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, depart for Murchison Falls National Park with a picnic lunch in Masindi. After, continue to the park and drive to the top of the falls for birding species, like Pel’s fishing Owl, Rock Pratincoles ,Bat Hawk and various nightjars, to mention a few. Dinner and an overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge -Midrange.
Day 3: Bird in Murchison Falls National Park
Wake up very early and start our birding. On this day, expect to see Pavel’s Illadopsis and the Grey and Yellow Longbill. Other species to be spotted in Kaniyo Pabidi include the White-thighed Hornbill, Puvel’s Illadopsis, Yellow-footed Flycatcher, Ituri Batis, Western Black-headed Oriole, Rufous-sided Broadbill, Grey Longbill, Golden-crowned Woodpecker, Blue-naped Mousebird, Swamp Flycatcher, and Fork-tailed Drongo. Other bird species to see include the Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, Yellow-crested Woodpecker, Silverbird, Cassin’s Hawk Eagle, and Black and white Casqued Hornbill, among others. Back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight as above.
Day 4: Bird in the Northern Sector – Murchison Falls NP
Enjoy your morning breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a game drive around the Delta area searching for shoebill storks and other rare water birds. During your morning drive, expect to find some nocturnal species of birds -mostly the Nightjars and Owls.
Birding drive on the northern sector of the park: expect to see animals like leopards, lions, giraffes, Oribis, Hartebeests , Cape Buffalo, elephants. Commonly seen birds on the drive include the Northern Carmine, Quail Finch, White-Fronted Black Chat, Swallow-Tailed and Red-Throated Bee-Eater, Silverbird, White-Browed Sparrow Weaver, Rufous sparrow, Black-Billed Barbet, Abyssinian Roller, and Speckle-Fronted Sparrow Weaver, among others.
Afterward, take a boat ride along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the Falls where you will sightsee numerous water birds, schools of Hippos, Crocodiles for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 5: Bird through the Albertine Escarpment
After an early breakfast, drive to Masindi through the escarpment in search of the Foxy Cisticola, Red-winged Grey Warbler, Cliff chat, Green-backed Eremomela, Green-headed Sunbird, Striped Kingfisher, Red-chested Cuckoo, and Yellow-bellied Hyliota, to name a few.

Do birding at the pond for the Blue Kingfisher, Sabine’s and Cassin’s Spine-tail. The best rewards are at night at Masindi Hotel.
Day 6: Bird the Royal Mile in Budongo Forest
Birding at Royal Mile on this day. You will spot various bird species endemic to Nahan’s Francolin, Yellow-footed Flycatcher, Cassin’s Hawk Eagle, Chocolate-backed Dwarf Kingfisher, White-thighed Hornbill, Narina Trogon, Uganda woodland warbler, Jameson’s Wattled-eye, Ituri Batis, Fire-crested Alethe, Forest Flycatcher, Chestnut-capped Flycatcher, Purple-headed Starling, Red-tailed Ant Thrush, Western Black-headed Oriole, and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Return to Kampala, birding route
Enjoy breakfast before departing back to Kampala. You will spot a variety of grassland birds enroute. Arriving in the late evening, to be dropped at your hotel or at the airport.
