The 3 days Akagera National Park Wildlife Safari is an interesting safari that starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda. the safari will take you to Akagera National Park which is the largest savannah national park located in the Eastern part of Rwanda. Akagera National Park is home to various wildlife species including buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, bushbucks, oribi, topi, hippos and different bird species which will be viewed during the game drives and boat cruise on Lake Ihema.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Akagera National Park
On the first day of the 3 days Akagera National Park wildlife safari, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or airport, brief you about the safari, and then go for a Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit Kigali genocide memorial center, art/craft centers, Kimironko market among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch, and after you will start the journey to Akagera National Park which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Akagera National Park wildlife safari, you will meet up with your driver to go for a morning game drive in the park where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, rhinos, elephants, bushbucks, zebras, impalas, topi, oribi, giraffes, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas among others looking for the morning hunt. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will be able to view hippos and crocodiles in the water, view animals along the shores, and water birds like cormorants, hornbills, kingfishers, fish eagles among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and departure to Kigali
On the last day of the 3 days Akagera National Park wildlife safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for another morning game drive in the park where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous morning game drive. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kigali with en-route lunch on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
