The 4 days Rwanda gorilla and Mount Bisoke hike is an amazing safari that starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to Volcanoes national park which is located in north-western part of Rwanda in Musanze village. During the 4 days Rwanda gorilla and mount bisoke hike, you will be able to engage in an adventurous gorilla and golden monkey trekking experience where you will be able to spend time with the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural environment and also engage in Ibyi’wacu cultural tour where you will get a chance to interact with the local people in the neighboring villages. You will also engage in Mount Bisoke hike which is one of the active Virunga Volcanic mountain that is 12,175 above the sea level.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes national park
On the first day of the 4 days Rwanda gorilla and mount bisoke hike, our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or airport, brief you about the safari and then go for a short Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit art/craft centres, Kigali genocide memorial centre, Kimironko market among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and later start the journey to Volcanoes national park which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Rwanda gorilla and mount bisoke hike, you will carry your packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest with an experienced park guide which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located.
During trekking you will be able to view other wildlife species and once the mountain gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviours, habits, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, grooming young ones, take photos and record videos to show people back home.
After the one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and go for an exciting cultural tour where you will be able to interact the local people who live in the neighboring villages, learn about their history, culture, lifestyle, way of living, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, enjoy their traditional performance among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mount Bisoke hike
On the third day of the 4 days Rwanda gorilla and mount bisoke hike, you will have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for mount bisoke hike. Hiking mount Bisoke takes about 6 to 7 hours depending on your level of fitness and when you reach the summit, you will enjoy great views of the Visoke crater lake, views of other Virunga mountains like mount Karisimbi and mount Mikeno and then have your picnic lunch. After lunch you will descend back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Departure to Kigali
On the last day of the 4 days Rwanda gorilla and mount bisoke hike, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kigali and upon arrival, you will go for a city tour in case you missed it on the first day and later have lunch. After lunch, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
