Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park – Ihema Boat Cruise

Transfer to Akagera: Depending on your location in Kigali, our professional driver -guide will pick you up to transfer to Akagera National Park. Arrive on enroute game drive in the park, connect back to the lodge for lunch. Later, you will embark on boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see water species such as crocodiles, hippos as well as waterbirds such as rare Shoe bill stork, African king fisher many more. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Half Game Drive and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Game Drive: Enjoy a yummy breakfast at the lodge, before heading on game drive with high anticipation of watching the different animals graze and various predators on hunt. After game drive, drive to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you will connect back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes National Park

Gorilla Trekking: After morning   breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven to the park headquarter at 7am for short briefing. The gorilla trekking briefing is about rules and regulation. After briefing, you will go meet the park ranger to allocate you to the forest in search of gorilla family.

 The experience takes about 30minute to 7 hours, depending on their locations. On finding them, you will be given an hour to watch their behaviors, habit as well as capturing videos. After an encounter with gorillas, trek back to starting point to be rewarded with gorilla certificate. Return to the lodge for lunch and evening, opt to do community visit or culture tour. Have dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 4: Dian Fossey Museum visit and transfer back to Kigali

Dian Fossey &Depart: Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, before embarking with en-route Dian Fossey Museum visit, where you will get to learn about the famous gorilla lady who impacted a lot on mountain gorilla survive.

Afterward, you will connect back to Kigali for lunch en-route and if it time allows -you will visit the genocide memorial and art center and a visit to Kimironko market to buy some souvenirs for the people left home. Later, you will be dropped off at any convenience place in Kigali.
