Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park,
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport on the first day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari , you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the Uganda safari Tour and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will have en-route lunch in Masindi town. After lunch you will proceed to Murchison falls national park and upon arrival in the park you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will have breathtaking views of the waterfalls, scenery, animals among others. From the top of the falls you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
Morning game drive,
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, Uganda kobs grazing in the savannah plains with due, view predators like hyenas, lions, leopards among others before going back to their hiding areas, view different birds among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
Boat cruise,
After lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls which starts at Paraa jetty landing site and takes about 2 to 3 hours. During the boat cruise you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in water, view animals like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes along the water banks, view water bird species like fish eagle, kingfishers, cormorants among others. After the boat cruise you will return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Nile delta boat cruise and afternoon game drive
Nile delta boat cruise,
After breakfast on the third day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari, you will drive to Paraa jetty landing site to go for an amazing Nile delta boat cruise. During the Nile delta boat cruise which takes about 4 to 5 hours you will have great views of animals, beautiful scenery, water birds such as the rare shoebill stork, goliath heron, African jacana, African skimmer, pied kingfisher, view the local people fetching water from the Nile, see fishermen fishing on Lake Albert among others. After the Nile delta boat ride you will return to the lodge for lunch.
Game drive,
After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive Murchison Falls National park where you will have great views of animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive, view the beautiful sundowner, take incredible photos among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer from Murchison falls national park to Kampala
On the fourth day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Kampala. On the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary where you will participate in an adventurous rhino tracking to spend time with the endangered rhinos in their natural habitat. After rhino tracking you will continue the journey to Kampala and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park-afternoon boat cruise
On the fifth day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari, you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge and your driver guide will pick you up to transfer to Lake Mburo national park. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will buy craft souvenirs and take photos. From the Equator you will proceed to the park where you will enjoy lunch upon arrival.
After lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes among others which will be drinking water along the shores, view hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view fishermen preparing their fishing nets among others. After the boat cruise you will go for a short game drive in the park where you will be rewarded with views of animals like giraffes, waterbucks, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, elands, warthogs, leopards among others before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Guided nature walk and departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 6 days Murchison falls and Lake Mburo national park safari, you will enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and then meet up with your driver guide to go for an interesting nature walk in the park where you will be accompanied by an armed park ranger and an experienced park guide. During the guided nature walk you will walk to the salt lick where you will be able to view abundant animals enjoying the taste of the salty licks which are made up of water and soil. You will also be able to listen to sweet sounds of bird species, view different plant and tree species, enjoy the cool breeze among others. After the nature walk you will meet up with your driver guide and start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch at the Equator. From the Equator you will continue the journey to Kampala and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience.
