6 Days Uganda Sport Fishing Safari: Uganda is an ideal fishing destination in Africa with most areas covered by water providing great opportunity for sport fishing. Sportfishing is carried out on Lake Victoria and Murchison Falls National Park. Nile Perch Fishing in Lake Victoria Uganda is implausible! Over 108 kilograms have been trapped below the falls in Murchison falls. Apart from Nile perch, other fish you can catch include catfish of over 50kilograms Tilapia, Tiger fish, Genus alestes, ferocious fighter and barbell.
Murchison falls National Park is the largest national park with a variety of wildlife life with the most powerful waterfall in Africa along the River Nile. Murchison falls national park are located in the Southern of Uganda and they offer the best experience of the big five game. Sport Fishing at Murchison Falls National Park is presently done at the foot of the falls. The fishing is either from the rocks on the bank of the river or faintly lowers downstream in the pools from a boat. Access to the fishing spots is either by boat from a point further downstream or by walking down the gorge to the river from the top of the falls. It’s a steep climb back up and hence most people tend to go fishing equipped for the day to avoid climbing up in the heat of the day. While here, you have better chances of finding the Nile Peach. There are added attractions to explore while sports fishing in Murchison falls national park including; a boat crusie to the bottom of the falls giving you an opportunity to view the falls from the bottom and both water and land animals that come close to the water banks.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Jinja
Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be met by our safari guide to embark on your journey to Jinja. It’s a 3 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Connect to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort Hotel
Day 2: Full day fishing experience in Jinja
After breakfast, connect for your fishing experience on Lake Victoria, you will meet for briefing and you will be allocated fishing equipment then drive to connect for the boat. Later afternoon after fishing, drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above
Day 3: Transfer for Murchison Falls National Park
Set off from Murchison falls national park very early after breakfast. It’s a 6-7 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Upon arrival, proceed to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay Paraa Safari Lodge for Luxury option/Pakuba Safari lodge for mid-range option/Heritage Safari lodge for budget
Day 4: Sports fishing experience
After your breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer to the starting point where you will you take a boat to the fishing grounds with your packed lunch. While at Murchison falls national park, you have higher chances of the Nile perch however not guaranteed. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 5: another day sport fishing
After breakfast, you will follow the same procedure as of the previous day and go for your full fishing experience. Transfer to your starting point with your packed lunch. Your guide will connect you to the fishing activity. This will take place in a different location on the Nile. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala
After morning breakfast, drive out the park and embark on your journey back to Kampala. This is a 4-5 hour. You will be dropped at a location you advise in Kampala/Entebbe and if you have a flight, you will be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home.
